Four meetings a year: the 4th Thursday in October & January, and the 3rd Thursday in March (Election) & May (Installation).
Since 1901
Founded in 1901, the Lodge brings together Old Carthusians, masters and staff of Charterhouse School, and Brothers of Sutton's Hospital in a friendship that long outlasts schooldays.
We meet four times each year and dine together afterwards in the traditions of the Lodge — and we are always glad to welcome new members and guests.
Why Join
If you are an Old Carthusian, or a master or member of staff of the School, the Lodge offers a rare and rewarding way to stay connected to Charterhouse and to one another.
A lasting bond with fellow Carthusians of every generation — well beyond your own year group — in good company and good humour.
Keep your connection to the School and Brooke Hall alive for decades after leaving, through people who share it.
Take your place in a Lodge founded in 1901, carrying on ceremony and custom in the historic setting of a City livery hall.
Dine together after every meeting — fine wines and liqueurs from the Lodge's own cellar, and traditions best discovered in person.
Share in a proud history of charitable giving, supporting causes chosen by the Lodge and by each Master in turn.
No prior knowledge of Freemasonry is needed, and you need not already be a mason — many members began their journey here.
